Forensic Meteorology is the process of investigating past weather events for a location by acquiring complex records of weather data, satellite images, radar returns and eyewitness accounts in order to determine the meteorological events that contributed to the case at hand.
These facts become a resource used for the purposes of legal determination and a tool applied in the pursuit of justice.
Because weather occurs daily and in any location around the world, weather can be a factor in any situation and is often found to be the "silent witness" in many cases.
